OAKS NORTH LIBRARY

NEW AT OAKS NORTH LIBRARY!

Have you wondered whether Oaks North Library has the new book you want to read?

While book purchases have been listed in THE COURIER and hardback books must be checked out, the volunteer librarians have been unsure about what books we actually own.

The books in the locked cases have now been entered into a simple database with a unique number assigned to each book. Look for a looseleaf binder listing the newer books by author and by title.

The circulation procedure is changing slightly. A "Book Number" column is being added to the check-out book so that librarians can track duplicate copies of the same title.

When signing out a book from the locked cases, look for a five-digit number (ex. 80134) on the date due page and enter it in the Book Number column.

The library staff welcomes your comments about the catalog and your suggestions about book purchases. We encourage donations of books three years old or less.

More volunteers are always needed for two-hour shifts Monday through Saturday or special projects such as data entry on Excel or book processing. Call Mary Alice Felt at 592-6087 to volunteer or leave your name and phone number in the office.
